Features

The hot plate welding process for plastic pallets uses controlled heat and pressure to fuse thermoplastic materials. This process heats two plastic surfaces with a temperature-regulated metal plate until they reach a molten state. After removing the hot plate, the molten surfaces are pressed together under controlled pressure. As the material cools, molecules diffuse at the interface, creating a strong, uniform bond. This method works especially well for high-density polyethylene (HDPE) or polypropylene (PP) pallets, as these materials fully restore their structural integrity upon cooling, forming durable, leak-proof joints.

The process starts with plastic pallet components clamped to opposing fixtures. A heated platen (200–300°C, depending on material) melts the contact surfaces. Once heated, the hot plate withdraws and the fixtures quickly press the molten surfaces together. Applied pressure (0.5–2 MPa) removes air gaps and encourages molecular bonding. The joint hardens as it cools, with timing carefully controlled to prevent warping. Modern systems automate temperature, pressure, and timing for consistent, high-volume production.
